Hello! /cricket has been invited to alpha test a new reddit feature called Predictions! Predictions allows users to participate in polls and bet reddit coins on the outcome. All coins are then distributed proportionally among all the winners when the poll closes! In short, predictions gives you the opportunity to put your money where your mouth is and put a stake on your claim. The IPL is a very nice testing ground for this feature and we'll start by creating a couple of predictions for each game, about ~10 hours before each game starts. The polls will close before the start of the game. For now we'll keep this introduction post stickied and keep updating the text here with the latest predictions so you can find it and show your chops. Now, because this is in alpha testing there are some restrictions that have been placed on the feature. Currently, only mods can create predictions. But that shouldn't deter you! We did bring this up with the admins and they reckon because there is no way to convert reddit coins back to usable currency, it doesn't count as gambling. However, if you live in an area where betting on cricket is illegal feel free to not participate or check your local laws.
Is there a maximum number of coins I can bet on each prediction?
It is currently capped out at 100 reddit coins per prediction which comes out to ~35 US cents.

So I decided I wanted to brew an IPL this week and I'm working out my recipe right now. Brewhouse efficiency is in the 77-78% range, and I'm shooting for something in the mid-5% ABV-wise. I was hoping to get the community's thoughs. I've done a bunch of research, but give IPL isn't a very well defined style, the recommendations are all over the place, ranging from make an IPA and use lager yeast to make a continental lager but hop it like an IPA, and everything in between. The name comes from the hop selection and I've already bought those as well as the yeast - Mostly I'd like a critique of the grain bill, mash temp, and hop schedule since I'm still hashing those out. Yeast - Fermentis Saflager 34/70 Fermentation - 15PSI pressure fermentation at 68F for 5 days in Fermzilla, cold crash 24 hours and closed transfer to keg. Gelatin and dry hop in keg w/ hop bag. Fully carb and drink on day 9-10. I've never done something that I dry hopped in the fermzilla and I'm not big on opening the fermenter, so I thought putting the hops in the keg before transfer was the better bet versus opening the fermenter for them. I have an all-rounder, so there's no trub dump that would make this easier. My other option is dry hopping on yeast pitch, though I don't know if you want biotransformation in an IPL. I'm fairly set on the fermentation schedule, as that's my go to schedule for pressure-fermented lagers and seems to work out well for me.
